Show Rules of the Smoky Mountain Gun Collectors Association
All items must be displayed in a neat and orderly manner
- NO LOADED FIREARMS ALLOWED ON PREMISES OTHER THAN BY AUTHORIZED LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL.
- NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES or ILLEGAL DRUGS PERMITTED IN SHOW BUILDING.
- All persons must observe absolute firearm safety while handling guns. KEEP MUZZLE POINTED IN SAFE DIRECTION ALWAYS; EVEN WHEN PRESUMED UNLOADED.
- Actions of firearms must always have nylon cable tie to secure it in a non-firing condition. Weapons with removable clips or magazines must have such removed from firearm. (Exception: Guns on a “DISPLAY ONLY” table to be judged for an award.)
- Exhibitors must check in at Registration Table before setting up. You will be assigned your tables. Tables rented to SMGCA members only & must remain under supervision of original renter. Renter will be held responsible for the presence of all items presented on their table. Exhibitors will wear their membership-identification badge at all times. Exhibitor tables will remain set-up until end of show closing time on Saturday & on Sunday. NO EARLY CHECK OUT .
- All confirmed reservations held until 9:00 am Saturday unless Secretary is notified of later arrival. Tables not occupied then will revert to Smoky Mountain Gun Collectors Association and be released to those on the waiting list. Table rental MUST be paid, and Rules SIGNED before occupying tables. NO TRANSFERAL OF TABLES WILL BE ALLOWED BY RENTER, ABSOLUTELY NO PURCHASING TABLES FOR OCCUPANCY BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN RENTER.
- Exhibitors must furnish and use appropriate table covers. The AMERICAN FLAG IS TO BE DISPLAYED ONLY IN ACCORDIANCE WITH PROPER USAGE AND SHALL NOT BE USED AS A TABLE COVER, ETC.
- No taking pictures allowed. The use of cameras, cellular phones or any type of recording device is not allowed without the expressed written permission of the Smoky Mountain Gun Collectors Association.
- Articles for sale or trade are not allowed on “Display Only” tables. “Display tables” are for a collectible display only – no price tags are permitted.
- Nothing may be attached to the walls or any structure of the building unless approved by the Board of Directors and Building Management.
- ALL LIVE AMMUNITION MUST be under glass, in sealed containers, boxes, or displayed to make ammunition inaccessible for casual handling.
- The Smoky Mountain Gun Collectors Association does not insure the safety of any article brought on the show premises for any purpose. Security provided on the show premises is done solely to preserve public order and for the convenience of the exhibitors and the public. ANYONE BRINGING ITEMS ON THE SHOW PREMISES DOES SO AT THEIR OWN RISK AND THEM ASSUMING ALL LIABILITIES FOR ANY HARM, DAMAGE, ETC.
- The Show Committee reserves the right of the final decision in relation to questionable items, exhibits, people or behavior and the right to remove people or articles brought onto its show premises. In any event the decision of the Rules Committee is final.
- No pets permitted in show building.
- No playing of audio or video recorders/players over monitors or TVs of any kind without expressed written permission from the Smoky Mountain Gun Collectors Association Board.
LIST OF ITEMS PROHIBITED AT SMOKY MOUNTAIN GUN COLLECTORS ASSOCIATION GUN SHOW
- Coins, stamps, rocks, bumper stickers, pins, memorabilia, political items, etc.
- Jewelry of any kind to include watches, clocks, beads, rings, etc.
- Cheap knives; such as low quality imports or mass produced low end items. (Quality knives allowed are Brand named manufactures; Quality Custom-made; and quality Handmade.)
- Any written material whose subject matter is offensive or not conforming to rules as determined by Smoky Mountain Gun Collectors Association.
- Clothing of any kind, including military, unless part of a display. (This also applies to clothing of an offensive nature worn by exhibitors and/or attendees)
- Military ordnance (grenades, rockets, bomb shells for firearms other than pistols and rifles); not to include deactivated Civil War shells, balls, cannon barrels or Gatling Guns.
- Sporting equipment not directly related to firearms: fishing rods or reels, boots, gloves, socks, and fire-starting equipment, flashlights, hats, leather goods, tents, shooting stands, camp stools, etc.
- Black powder-including synthetic black powder.
- Pictures or photographs not directly related to firearms: includes anything in which a firearm is not featured. (Exception CIVIL WAR daguerreotypes and earlier which feature military personnel.)
- Excavated items unrelated to firearms – ink wells, bottles, cooking equipment, Indian relics, etc. (Exception: belt buckles, fitting from such items as cartridge boxes, military buttons.)
- Items of the martial arts, (Exception: WWII and earlier Japanese Blades (Tanto, wakisashi, katana and their fittings.)
- No BB, pellet, dart, air soft, water, training or Laser type guns.
- Miscellaneous items which portray weapons but not related to them as tie-clips, key chains, lapel pins featuring pistol or rifle, billfolds with tooled designs of firearm, etc.
- DROP IN SEARS, FULL AUTO KITS, and SILENCER TUBES/PARTS.
Exceptions: Certain of the above may be permitted subject to interpretation and final decision of the Sergeant at Arms and/or Board of Directors if they serve as supportive material for an educational, non-commercial display which is not for sale. This shall not be interpreted as so to allow displays of currently available goods for a retail dealer.
